Next Generation Forest Management has been providing woodlot management and harvesting services to woodlot owners for 22 years. Calvin Archibald and Mark Bannerman met in 2001 when Calvin started Next Gen. Calvin looks after the financial aspects, and Mark looks after day-to-day operations. Roles that have remained fairly consistent over that time. Mark acquired ownership in the company in 2009.

Next Gen chose to work with the Timber Loan Board because of the competitive rates and helpful staff. Working with the TLB allowed Next Gen to upgrade their equipment, leading to improved productivity.

When asked about Next Gen’s future, Mark says “As long as forestry has a future in NS, Next Gen has the employees and equipment for a successful future.”
